10- FAT BIKING ON LAKE SUPERIOR - Bayfield Ice Caves
For the first time in 7 years, access to the lesser traveled Big Bay State Park Ice Caves (no Fat Bike riding is allowed in the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore Sea Caves) was heightened by the ability to ride our bikes across the 2 mile ice road to Madeline Island. At -20 below, pictures just can't seem to do any justice to how much fun we were having.
9- TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN - St Paul to Milwaukee in 3 days.
I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
Stats: 8 riders, one way - 360 miles, 3 days, old restored train cars, multi-modal, the Trempealeau Hotel, The Great River road, The great Tom Schuler, the state's best scenery, random train museums, Fleckenstein! worlds best pie, mile long tunnels, May showers, the godfather, flip flops, lilacs everywhere. Can't wait till next year.
8 - RIDE THE HOAN BRIDGE - UPAF Miller Ride For the Arts
If only the fine people of Milwaukee could ride the Hoan Bridge Everyday. Until that glorious day happens, you'll have your chance only a select few days a year. You can either sign up for the 2015 UPAF Ride for the arts, or the USA Triathlon Age Group Nationals returning for the 3rd time in 2015.
7 - RENEW WISCONSIN - Sustainable Energy Tour Of Milwaukee
It's always cool to see what efforts Milwaukee has made to become a more energy independent city. It's even better to see them all on a bicycle - Take the tour around the city and experience Milwaukee a different way. Ride is a leisurely 40 miles and includes lunch!
6 - BUBLR! BIKE SHARE IN MKE.
With a soon-to-be-expanding network of bike and stations, Bike-Share in Milwaukee is a no brainer; mo' bikes, mo' bettah. If your skeptical at all, just visit NYC and see how their bike share has made a HUGE difference in how safe you feel on the road. It's incredibly easy to use and can be a good way to save on gas for short trips. Least of all is how much easier parking becomes. Embrace the Bublr!
5- STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES - Slow Down.
The smell of the earth after a rain storm.
The appeal to use nature to create art.
The clacking of tracks on your way out of town.
The clamoring of trades being made at the farmers market.
The taste of pulp in the air as you ride past the lumber mill.
Feel alive. Enjoy Your Ride.
4- RIVERWEST 24 HOUR RACE - Milwaukee, WI
All that needs to be said - If you are one who thinks riding a bike is fun, then you need to do this "race". And sure, you can pump out 200+ miles if you're uber awesome, but it might not be as fun as just riding 2 miles to watch the shenanigans! If you can't get into this race - try, try, try, try, again.
3 - GO ON AN ADVENTURE - Ride around a Mountain in Oregon
It was tough just making sure we stayed alive out there!
Just kidding, but Bachelor Party's this beautiful are hard to come by.
4 days of riding
140 Miles from Hood River, up and around Mt. Hood. and back to HR.
Mostly Gravel roads, 4x4 track, and singletrack mtb trails.
Total Feet of Elevation: 17,450
Overnights- Shanty Cabins in the middle of the woods.
Level of difficulty: Self supported - Difficult. With Support - Flatlanders beware.
*We may or may have not have rode every mile.

Spanning over 118 miles of paved trails , the Oak Leaf Trail is the first place to look for the safest routes and the most scenic areas in the city.
