Michigan Lodging Options
Option 1: Long Lake Outdoor Cabins - Camp With Us!
We reserved all the cabins and bunks on the premises and would love for you to stay here for the weekend to enjoy yourself. There are so many great activities onsite for everybody, plus, all sleeping arrangements are available at no cost to you.
The Rustic Cabins
There are several primitive cabins (Bunk houses with electricity & heat but no running water). Each of these cabins are located on the grounds & have easy access to pit toilets. A full bath house is just short walk away. They are cozy and comfortable for your time at the wedding but please remember to bring some of your own sleeping and camping gear. We will be in the woods.
What to Bring for Sleeping:
We can provide the mattress but please bring your own:
Twin Bed Sheets
Sleeping Bag or Blanket
The Outdoor Center is an old Conservation Corp Lodge that is now privately owned. This place really has an UP North feeling to it because it is located on over three hundred acres in the middle of the 5,200-acre Yankee Springs State Recreation Area. Much of the site hasn't been changed since it was built in 1938 and the well-maintained cabins are the original structures.
Yankee Springs has an immense forest with SEVEN marked hiking/skiing/mountain biking trails totaling almost thirty miles. The camp includes a great arena for wandering bocce Ball, a baseball diamond, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, a shuffleboard court and plenty of water for swimming.
Option 2: Local Vacation Homes
If you are unable to find accommodations onsite that suit your needs or you need rooms for the entire family, many locals will rent their whole house for the weekend. VRBO.com rental houses are capable of sleeping 6-16 people comfortably, All in all, this option can make for a very affordable weekend if you plan ahead.
Many of Stephanie's family members live near Gun Lake and have a good idea of what is available. If you are new to this part of Michigan, don't hesitate to reach out and inquire about a vacation rental in this beautiful area.
